- Rectal Delivery of Magnesium Sulfate: Simplifying Anticonvulsant Therapy for Severe Preeclampsia/Eclampsia
Magnesium sulfate is the most effective, low-cost treatment for preeclampsia/eclampsia, the second leading cause of maternal death in developing countries; yet it is widely underutilized. In this poster, created for the 2013 Saving Lives at Birth DevelopmentXChange, PATH proposed to develop a rectally delivered mucoadhesive gel containing magnesium sulfate. This will increase overall access to and the use of a critical anticonvulsant therapy for women with severe, life-threatening preeclampsia/eclampsia.

- Tackling Pneumonia and Diarrhea Together: A Mapping Brief of Global Strategies for Pneumonia and Diarrheal Disease
This policy brief highlights the array of global policies related to pneumonia and diarrheal disease and how the Global Action Plan for the Prevention and Control of Pneumonia and Diarrhea, released by the World Health Organization and UNICEF in April 2013, supports all of these efforts by providing an integrated framework for addressing both diseases.

- UN Commission on Life-Saving Commodities Technical Reference Team Briefs
The UN Commission on Life-Saving Commodities for Women and Children (the Commission) was formed in 2012 by the UN Secretary-General as a part of the Every Woman Every Child movement. The Commission’s framework for action outlines a priority list of 13 commodities and 10 cross-cutting recommendations to rapidly increase access and use. To help carry forward the Commission’s recommendations at the global and national levels, Global Technical Reference Teams (TRT) were established. One group was formed for each of the 13 commodities and 10 recommendations, and an advocacy working group is dedicated to advancing their cross-cutting goals. The advocacy working group, convened by PATH, developed a series of briefs highlighting the major goals, challenges, and activities of each TRT.

- mPneumonia Application
Part of the Technology Updates series, this fact sheet describes PATH’s work to develop a cell phone–based application to assist with management of childhood pneumonia in resource-limited settings. Called the mPneumonia application, it will incorporate a digital version of the Integrated Management of Childhood Illness algorithm with a software-based respiratory rate counter and a pulse oximeter, providing a user-friendly diagnostic and management tool.

- FoneAstra Milk Pasteurization Monitor: Building Capacity of Small-Scale Human Milk Banks
This poster was presented in March 2013 at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's Grand Challenge Explorations awardee meeting for nutrition and agriculture. The poster describes PATH and our partners' work to ensure the safety of donated human breast milk using FoneAstra, a smart phone−based device that has been adapted to monitor temperatures during flash-heat pasteurization. PATH and our partners are evaluating the system for use in resource-limited human milk banks.

- Saving Children Through Program and Policy Integration: A Peek Into PATH’s Coordinated Approach to Curbing Pneumonia and Diarrhea in Cambodia
PATH and our partners implemented the Enhanced Diarrheal Disease Initiative in 2011 to tackle the leading killers of Cambodian children under five years old: pneumonia and diarrheal disease.
