mPneumonia Application

Part of the Technology Updates series, this fact sheet describes PATH’s work to develop a cell phone–based application to assist with management of childhood pneumonia in resource-limited settings. Called the mPneumonia application, it will incorporate a digital version of the Integrated Management of Childhood Illness algorithm with a software-based respiratory rate counter and a pulse oximeter, providing a user-friendly diagnostic and management tool.

Needs of HIV-Positive Women in Ukraine

This poster presentation describes the research conducted using four focus group discussions to analyze information about the needs of HIV-positive pregnant women and mothers in Ukraine. The focus groups consisted of a total of 27 HIV-positive mothers who delivered babies in the previous two years in Sevastopol and Mykolayiv, Ukraine. This poster was presented at the XVI AIDS conference in Toronto, August 13-18, 2006.
