- A Controlled Human Malaria Infection Model Comparing Low-Dose Piperaquine and Sulfadoxine-Pyrimethamine to Induce Infectious Male and Female P. Falciparum Gametocytes
Efforts to reduce transmission and eliminate malaria require an understanding of biology and transmission. A model to induce gametocytes to understand their dynamics and evaluate transmission-blocking interventions is currently unavailable. Here, we explore the use of the Controlled Human Malaria Infection model to induce gametocyte carriage with antimalarial drug regimens.

- Improving Timely Immunization Rates in Vietnam With a Digital Immunization Registry—ImmReg
PATH has worked to improve immunization rates in Vietnam by developing a digital immunization registry. ImmReg saves time, reduces errors, and improves on-time immunization rates by digitizing records and sending vaccination reminders to clients’ mobile phones. From 2016, ImmReg was integrated into the government-led National Immunization Information System in Vietnam.

- What Is the Cost? Pediatric Cryptosporidiosis in Peru, Bangladesh, and Kenya
Cryptosporidium is an intestinal protozoan parasite that can cause diarrheal disease in young children. The economic burden of cryptosporidiosis has been poorly characterized. This study aimed to describe the economic impact of cryptosporidiosis on families and communities in low-resource settings, and identify data gaps to inform objectives for future analyses.
