Maximizing the Benefits of Public-Private Partnerships

This document describes PATH's approach to maximizing the availability, accessibility, and affordability of global health technologies through private-sector collaboration. This approach is critical in enabling global access of the results of our private-sector partnerships. This edition is a condensed version of the 12-page document, Bringing New Health Technologies Within Reach for Everyone. It is supported by six case studies illustrating how PATH has applied this approach to a food-fortification technology, pneumococcal vaccines, human papillomavirus screening, Japanese encephalitis vaccines, malaria vaccines, and the Uniject® prefilled injection device.

Medical Waste Management for Primary Health Centers in Indonesia

In 2003 and 2004, PATH worked with the Indonesian Ministry of Health to build awareness and provide policy guidance to the country's decision-makers. This report describes the process and lessons learned implementing pilot waste-management systems in three districts of Yogyakarta province. The report was used to guide development of waste-management policy in Indonesia and could serve as a useful model for other countries.
