An Interim Review of the Health Information Systems Programme—University of Oslo— with Recommendations for Future Action

PATH’s Digital Health team conducted a strategic review of the Health Information Systems Programme (HISP) at the University of Oslo. The review focused on assessing HISP’s role, capacities, challenges, and opportunities. The report summarizes those findings and includes recommendations to help meet increased demand for District Health Information Software 2 (DHIS 2) development and implementation support.

An Investment in Zambia’s Future: Information for Partners and Coalitions to Advocate for Increased Resources for Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health

During the past 25 years, Zambia has made tremendous progress in preventing deaths and improving health among women, newborns, and children. Despite this, many still do not receive basic health services and lack access to essential medicines, products, and technologies. This report demonstrates the potential impact of increased prioritization of reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health commodities and interventions in order to support advocates as they interact with decision-makers to influence policy and budget changes.

This document provides an overview of current regulatory systems at the EAC level and within partner states. It also summarizes key challenges and identifies potential solutions that could be the focus of future policy advocacy efforts.

Reprocessing Guidelines for Basic Neonatal Resuscitation Equipment in Resource-Limited Settings

The guidelines contain an overview of reprocessing materials and equipment, space planning and workflow, detailed step-by-step disinfection instructions, training and supervision considerations, and further considerations for health facility administrators and ministry of health officials. The general job aid should be posted in the reprocessing area along with the appropriate job aid for the selected method of disinfection. Training materials (including a quality improvement roadmap) can be tailored for training workshops or activities. French and Spanish translations of the guidelines and the general job aid are also available.

PATH Vietnam and ImmReg: Expanding Reach of the Immunization Registry in Vietnam

This case study explores PATH’s effective scale-up of a Digital Immunization Registry System (ImmReg) in Vietnam. The web-based application is accessed by health workers via computers and smartphones to record and manage immunization data. ImmReg also sends Short Message Service (SMS) reminders to caretakers of children due for vaccinations.

Total Market Approach Advocacy Messaging Framework

In February 2016, PATH convened a workshop involving public and private family planning market specialists that resulted in the messaging framework. This communications tool encourages dialogue and information-sharing among stakeholders, and fosters coordination across sectors for stronger family planning markets.

Improving Breast Health: Bringing Early Detection and Care to Women in Low-Resource Settings
