As part of MACEPA's advocacy efforts, journalists visit health centers to develop news reports on Zambia's fight against malaria.

A universal truth in any health initiative is that even the best-resourced interventions, such as bednets and medicines, will not succeed unless they include advocacy efforts paving the way to partner coordination at the national level, prioritization at the district level, and acceptance and endorsement at the community level. MACEPA is working at all levels to ensure that preventing and treating malaria is a priority in government offices, in district health agencies, and in the homes of those who are vulnerable to the disease.

At the national level, MACEPA is working to galvanize partner support and secure the long-term commitment to a sustained and robust national malaria control program. In districts, we are strengthening the capacity for local government and partners to manage their activities so that they can operate strategically while also remaining consistent with overall national goals. And in people's homes, we are helping them get the information they need so that they are inspired to protect themselves and their families from this preventable disease.

In partnership with the government of Zambia, MACEPA is documenting progress in Zambia, sharing lessons, and strengthening partnerships to ensure that every family in every community across the country has the means and information to protect themselves from malaria. Read the fact sheet.
