A comprehensive set of malaria control tools for sharing and adapting
Achieving the global Roll Back Malaria (RBM) goal of reducing malaria deaths to near zero by 2015 means that countries must have access to proven, easy-to-use tools and methods to plan, manage, and implement scale-up of malaria control efforts now.
The RBM Partnership has developed the RBM Toolbox, available on the RBM Partnership website. The toolbox is a comprehensive set of malaria control tools to be widely shared and adapted by national program managers, their teams, and their partners. Both the toolbox and many of the tools are available in English and French, making the toolbox accessible to a wide range of countries. It was developed through a collaboration of a wide range of organizations to strengthen the capacity of malaria-endemic countries to improve program activities and performance.
The tools are organized into seven categories, with each category representing a different stage in the malaria control planning cycle:
- Policies and Strategies
- Assessing and Planning
- Resourcing and Mobilisation
- Implementation of Interventions
- Implementation Systems
- Monitoring and Evaluation
- Advocacy and Communication
The toolbox will benefit greatly from use, adaptation, improvement, and further refining. Partners can submit additional tools that they think might be of interest on the RBM Partnership website.
If you have any questions, please email rbmtoolbox@who.int. Suggestions on strengthening the toolbox are very welcome.
