Essential to our vitality

PATH’s offices in North America and Europe are essential to our vitality. They position us for collaboration with the foundations and governments that support our work and with our many colleagues in global health.

Seattle headquarters

Our headquarters office in Seattle, Washington, houses many of PATH’s central functions. PATH’s president and other leaders set vision and make policy for the organization. Experts in finance, computer technology, human resources, travel, and procurement assist our local and international staff and keep our programs running smoothly. Professionals in communications and fundraising generate interest in global health issues and disseminate information about PATH’s work.

In addition, the Seattle office serves as a base for many projects in emerging and epidemic diseases, maternal and child health, and maternal and reproductive health, and it is home to much of our technology-related activity. The building contains a level-two biosafety laboratory and a product development shop for fabricating prototypes, testing materials, and mocking up manufacturing scenarios to prepare for mass production. Technologies developed in these facilities include woman-controlled contraceptive devices, needle-safety innovations, needle-free injection devices, and diagnostic tests for infectious diseases.

Washington, DC area

PATH maintains a large office in the US capital. Our DC staff direct much of our work in emerging and epidemic diseases, maternal and child health, reproductive health, and vaccine development. They also raise awareness of global health issues through advocacy and policy work and increase our organizational visibility among donors and colleague organizations.

To be close to our biotechnology partners in developing a vaccine for the malaria parasite, PATH’s Malaria Vaccine Initiative has an office in Bethesda, Maryland.

Ferney, France

Opened in 2001 with only three employees, our office in Ferney, France, has grown to 15 employees and five nationalities. The location aids our collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), located right across the border in Geneva. It is also home to the Meningitis Vaccine Project, a partnership between PATH and WHO.
