PATH is a complex, matrixed global health organization with more than 1,600 employees in 20 countries, and the Finance department—with Polius at the helm—is the nexus. She leads an international team that conducts business in dozens of fluctuating currencies while adhering to labor and commerce practices in countries on every continent but Antarctica.

In her role as vice president of Finance, Technology, and Infrastructure, Polius is also responsible for maximizing employees' safety in dangerous environments; advancing the use of next-generation business technology, data, and analytics; monitoring the ever-increasing risk of cyber threats; overseeing global real estate lease agreements for offices around the world; and more.

For the past two and a half years, Polius has led PATH's largest multi-year initiative: the design and implementation of a new, cloud-based financial platform. When it rolls out later this year, the system will launch an era of improved efficiency and effectiveness—and expand PATH's capacity to save lives and improve health equity around the globe.

Before she joined PATH in 2013, Polius was director of Global Program Services at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Prior to that, she held senior financial leadership positions in technology companies in the private sector.
