Join PATH at Women Deliver 2016

With exhibits and experts showcasing our work to develop and deliver solutions in women's health, PATH will have a strong presence at the Women Deliver 2016 conference in Copenhagen, May 16—19.

For nearly 40 years, PATH has created innovative health solutions that transform health at every stage of a woman's life–from improving sexual and reproductive health, to ensuring safe births, to preventing and treating women's cancers and other chronic diseases. At Women Deliver 2016 PATH representatives will take part in numerous events to demonstrate our organization's work, discuss PATH's integrated approach to enhancing health equity, and talk about PATH's global efforts to improve women's health across the lifecycle.

PATH is a co-sponsor of this pre-conference event to explore critical factors of what it takes to make maternal and newborn health innovations actionable, and to successfully and sustainably scale them to save the lives of women and children. PATH innovations and our work in Ghana will be highlighted. Amie Batson and David Fleming will represent PATH at this high-profile gathering that will include Her Royal Highness Crown Princess of Denmark, and other United Nations and global health leaders and luminaries.

Stop by the PATH booth (C3-055) near the "Youth Zone" to find out when our experts will be available, and pick up a schedule of PATH's conference participation. Throughout the conference, attendees can get a hands-on look at our technologies and interventions for improving health for women and girls, and talk one-on-one with PATH experts and partners. Our daily "Meet the Experts" offers a unique opportunity for attendees to engage with Amie Batson, chief strategy officer and vice president, Strategy and Learning; David Fleming, vice president of Public Health; and many other PATH staff about our work.
Our booth will also display "She's Just Getting Started"–a creative suite of materials to initiate a dialogue on the need for effective menstrual care products for girls and women and approaches to improve menstrual health.

This panel, led by the Maternal Health Supplies Caucus of the RHSC and PATH, will highlight the potential for market strengthening to increase access to high-quality, appropriately designed, affordable maternal health supplies globally, and discuss opportunities for improving access through advocacy for market strengthening.

Jose Jeronimo, PATH senior advisor for Women's Cancers, will present in this plenary panel as part of a series of smart, insightful human stories about the issues that challenge convention and change the way we see the world.

PATH Kenya staff, are convening a panel discussion with representatives from the Kenya Ministry of Health, parliament, and civil society on the groundbreaking maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) legislation to spotlight MNCH and propel introduction of the bill.

In partnership with Women Deliver, PATH is supporting local NGOs to organize eight concurrent regional advocacy caucuses as part of the official conference program. The caucuses will engage a diverse cross-section of policymakers, civil society organizations, youth advocates, and other stakeholders in developing and committing to collective advocacy strategies to elevate women and girls as part of regional and national planning, implementation, and accountability for the Sustainable Development Goals. The caucuses will address a variety of regional priorities, from ending child marriage and ensuring safe childbirth rights to promoting the sexual and reproductive rights of youth and adolescents, among others.

Dramatic global economic and social transitions are leading to an increase in non-communicable diseases (NCDs), especially among youth. In this session, Vivien Tsu will join international youth leaders and advocates to present solutions and best practices to reverse this trend, including HPV vaccination. The audience will weigh in on the feasibility and impact of the solutions presented.

As a leading, global advocate for girls' and women's health, rights, and well-being, Women Deliver brings together diverse voices and interests to drive investments and progress, particularly in maternal, sexual, and reproductive health and rights. The focus of the 2016 Conference will be on how to make development matter most for girls and women, with a specific focus on health, rights, gender equality, education, and economic empowerment. Held every three years, the conference draws thousands of government leaders, policymakers, health care professionals, nongovernmental organization representatives, corporate leaders, journalists, and other participants.
