January 29, 2016 by PATH

Regional caucuses will bring together diverse stakeholders to identify ways to advance global goals for women and girls

PATH and Women Deliver are joining forces to support regional convenings during the Women Deliver 4th Global Conference in Copenhagen with a focus on strengthening the health, rights, and well-being of women and girls around the world.

PATH is seeking local partners to execute regional caucuses, which will bring together a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including nongovernmental and civil society organizations, policymakers, academics, multilateral and bilateral donors, government officials, private sector representatives, journalists, advocates, and young people. The deadline for the request for applications has been extended through February 10, 2016 for the following regions: Central/Middle Africa, Latin America & the Caribbean, and Middle East/North Africa.

The caucuses will engage participants in developing collective strategies to elevate women and girls as part of regional and national planning, implementation, and accountability for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — a key focus of the Women Deliver 4th Global Conference.

About the Women Deliver 4th Global Conference

The Women Deliver 4th Global Conference, which will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark from May 16-19, 2016, will be the largest gathering on girls' and women's health, rights, and well-being in more than a decade, and one of the first major global conferences following the launch of the SDGs. The focus of the conference will be on how to implement the SDGs so they matter most for girls and women, with a specific focus on health, in particular maternal, sexual, and reproductive health and rights; gender equality; education; environment; and economic empowerment. Held during the main conference program, the regional caucuses will provide a critical platform for participants to advocate to political leaders and influencers to support policy and resource recommendations emerging from the conference both during the event and upon their return home.
