Advocacy group names PATH a "seed of hope"

RESULTS, a grassroots advocacy organization dedicated to ending hunger and poverty, has honored PATH with its Seeds of Hope award for our groundbreaking work in global health. The Puget Sound chapter of RESULTS presented the award to PATH at the chapter’s 17th annual benefit, recognizing PATH’s achievements in the areas of health technologies, maternal and child health, reproductive health, vaccines and immunization, and emerging and epidemic diseases.

In a keynote address at the event, Dr. Christopher Elias, PATH’s president and CEO, highlighted how hope is essential in our work to bring health within reach of everyone, no matter where they might live.

"‘Seeds of Hope,’” he said, “means we are working together now to provide hope for the future to the world’s neediest citizens. Hope for a future where their children can be healthy and productive, and their countries can thrive.”

The Seeds of Hope award is given annually to an individual or organization that demonstrates exemplary, innovative, and strategic work that is shifting the development paradigm by insisting that health care, economic opportunity, and access to education are basic to our humanity and critical to our collective future. The award is presented by RESULTS, a Washington, DC-based grassroots lobbying organization with chapters throughout the United States, including seven chapters in Washington State.
