PATH to address new technologies, successful partnerships at upcoming Global Washington Conference

PATH will join more than 350 global development stakeholders in Redmond, Washington for the second annual Global Washington Conference on November 15 and 16. The event, Bridges to Breakthroughs: How partnerships and innovation are changing the world, will explore how Washington State can harness its resources to tackle today’s most challenging issues in global health, the environment, poverty alleviation, and global education to meet the Millennium Development Goals by 2015.

With this year’s focus on partnerships, the conference will explore how businesses can contribute to and take leadership in pushing the global development sector in Washington to the next level. PATH President Dr. Chris Elias will speak about PATH’s many successful partnerships and how they are already tackling the Millennium Development Goals. 

Dipika Matthias, who leads PATH’s Ultra Rice® project, will also contribute, addressing PATH’s expertise in advancing new technologies to improve global health. Scott Jackson will then offer closing remarks, taking a look at the Washington global development community’s future role in furthering the Millennium Development Goals. During an evening reception on November 15, PATH’s Safe Water Project will have a chance to demonstrate its Smart Electrochlorinator technology, the result of a successful partnership between PATH and Cascade Designs, Inc. Attendees will have the chance to learn more about PATH’s work throughout the two-day event by visiting our exhibition table. 

The conference is hosted by Global Washington, a broad-based membership association composed of non-profit organizations, foundations, businesses, government and academic institutions invested in making Washington a recognized leader in global development.
