Ways to help as humanitarian crisis unfolds in East Africa

Millions of Somalis are on the brink of starvation, according to the United Nations, with tens of thousands already dead of malnutrition-related causes and thousands more fleeing drought, famine, and ongoing civil war in their homeland.

Our hearts go out to the people of Somalia as they face one of the worst humanitarian crises in decades. If you want to help, we suggest supporting one of our partner organizations currently working on the ground in East Africa doing direct relief work. These include Save the ChildrenUNICEF, and World Vision. You can learn about them and other reputable aid organizations responding to the Somalia famine at Charity Navigator, an independent charity evaluator that provides guidance on how to donate effectively.
