Rotary Foundation honors PATH president
The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International has recognized Dr. Christopher J. Elias, PATH’s president and CEO, as a Paul Harris Fellow for his leadership in the global health community.
The designation as a Paul Harris Fellow, named in memory of Rotary International’s founder, is bestowed in appreciation of tangible and significant efforts to promote understanding and relations among the world’s communities. PATH has a longstanding partnership with Northwest Rotary clubs, including initiatives to support malaria control efforts in Africa.
“Because your leadership and vision reflect the essence of what we as Rotarians aspire to be, we would like to honor you as a Paul Harris Fellow,” said John Matthews, Costco’s senior vice president of human resources and risk management and past district governor of Rotary District 5030.
Honor presented at RESULTS benefit
The honor was presented October 19 at a Seattle benefit event for the nonprofit organization RESULTS. The organization awarded its annual Seeds of Hope award to the Rotarian Malaria Partners for forging an innovative partnership with PATH, Rotary clubs in the Northwest and Zambia, and the Zambian Government's National Malaria Control Centre to develop a replicable and sustainable model to fight malaria in Africa.
