PATH’s innovative health technologies will be featured at two upcoming events in Seattle that aim to inspire the interest of children and youth in science, technology, engineering, and math.

On June 2, PATH will host an exhibit booth and demonstrate our global health technologies at EXPO Day at Seattle Center, part of the monthlong Seattle Science Festival. This free event will feature more than 150 family-friendly activities, hands-on experiments, and two live science stages.

Featured technologies include PATH’s Ultra Rice® fortification technology, which produces manufactured grains made from rice flour and packed with key vitamins and minerals to fight malnutrition. We will also demonstrate the Smart Electrochlorinator 200, a portable device that produces a concentrated chlorine solution to make community water supplies safer to drink.

Meet local science researchers

On June 8, PATH will showcase our technologies at another Seattle Science Festival event, the South Lake Union Science Trek. At this free event, students and teachers will learn about the diverse science behind global health, modern biology, cancer research, health and wellness, and even sailing.

Students will meet researchers from a number of research institutions that call South Lake Union home, including PATH, Seattle BioMed, and the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. They can participate in interactive science experiences and learn more about careers in science, technology, engineering, and math.

Celebrating science and technology

The events are being organized by the Pacific Science Center as part of the Seattle Science Festival. The festival is the region's first large-scale, community-wide celebration of science and technology, part of a slate of events marking the 50th anniversary of the Seattle World’s Fair.
