Philippe Guinot, a public health leader with experience in both the public and private sectors, has been named country manager in PATH’s Dakar, Senegal office. He will lead operational and programmatic coordination for project activities in Senegal as well as manage new business development opportunities.

“I am pleased to welcome Philippe Guinot to lead PATH’s Senegal office,” said Ayo Ajayi, vice president for Field Programs at PATH. “His robust experience across multiple sectors and background in public health are significant assets. In addition, his unique knowledge of the health and nutrition systems in Senegal will benefit PATH’s portfolio of projects in the region.”

Most recently, Guinot served as director of innovation and partnerships and Senegal country representative at the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN). He was responsible for managing private partnerships to enable innovative product solutions along the agriculture-nutrition value chain. At GAIN, he also served as the director of business development and leverage and as head of the organization’s premix facility, which finds cost-effective ways of procuring high-quality vitamin and mineral premix for food fortification programs.

Before joining GAIN, Mr. Guinot worked for nearly 15 years in the pharmaceutical industry. He held positions in both finance and marketing, including international business leader in charge of all commercial and marketing activities for an advanced product developed by Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd.

Mr. Guinot currently serves on the Stop TB Partnership’s Global Drug Facility business advisory committee, where he provides strategic input for the international procurement of tuberculosis medicines. He has extensive experience working in Senegal, France, Switzerland, Brazil, Australia, and the United States, and holds a Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Controlling from the INSEEC School of Business in Bordeaux, France.
