Bridging the worlds of science and policymaking
This video describes the need for communication between researchers and policymakers and introduces the Malaria Vaccine Advocacy Fellowship.
With a malaria vaccine on the horizon, policymakers will need vital information from researchers to plan for its introduction. All too frequently a gap in communication between researchers and policymakers results in slow decision-making—and children’s delayed access to lifesaving vaccine.
The PATH Malaria Vaccine Initiative (MVI) helps to bridge the worlds of science and policymaking by developing a cadre of malaria vaccine advocates. MVI’s Malaria Vaccine Advocacy Fellowship trains researchers to be “policy champions” who will help to ensure that a malaria vaccine, once available, will reach the people who need it the most.
