Making sure women have essential information
Most effective decisions come from good, reliable data. But for many women in the developing world, information on crucial topics such as family planning is hard to come by.
Poverty, illiteracy, social and geographical isolation, and lack of health services can prevent women from learning what they need to know to plan pregnancies, protect themselves from HIV and other infections, and seek care for pregnancy and childbirth.
PATH breaks down these barriers by inventing new ways for women to meet and communicate, engaging communities in entertainment that contains valuable health guidelines and finding ways to expand the reach of reliable information.
When women understand their options, they can make the kinds of decisions that lay the groundwork for a healthy tomorrow.
